Our Fall/Winter edition is packed with star power, and despite this strange and fractured year, we can only hope for the new year to come. Over half the year is gone, and we are still in this pandemic with no end in sight. There's a mounting sense of “if” the other shoe will drop. The challenges are real and the unknown seems to loom like a thunderous rain cloud about to erupt. Millions out of work, racial and social unrest rising by the day. The faces of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, and so many more violent and unnecessary deaths are ingrained in our psyche. Yet, we still find that measure of hope - that single thread that can bind us together as HUMANS - since that is the only actual race.
I'm perplexed to say what "Our New Normal" is or will be. But I still have faith that we will rise above the permeating discord and blatant disregard for others, leaving the greed and disdain behind to forge a new understanding of what it means to follow the Golden Rule: Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You!
