We define the times of our lives by the people we meet and the friendships we build along the way. I can sincerely say that I have met so many incredibly talented people on my journey and Jenny Richer is certainly one of those people. A kaleidoscope of endless talent, we first met when she was assisting photographers and I was styling photoshoots and models for a big ad agency in Troy Michigan. I immediately was drawn to her sweet personality and immense visual eye for photography. Working with Jenny was seamless, her vision and aptitude for creating timeless images shooting fashion for major local magazines such as Hour Detroit, Somerset Collection were great feats for a young photographer, but something I knew was that her artistry would take her places in the industry that at the time Detroit couldn’t offer, so it was off to New York City where she landed a coveted job as assistant for the great French fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier and eventually began forming her own studio. So fast forward to today, where it all started Jenny is now back in her hometown with two beautiful kids and a thriving commercial photography business; taking on amazing projects that are topical, up to the minute and timeless. Anyone who knows Gail Perry-Mason knows she’s a force to be reckoned with. The consummate people person!. Everyone is drawn to her engaging personality non-stop drive and super energized spirit. Over the last 90 days or so Gail Perry-Mason (and yes you have to use all three names to understand her being) has invented the ultimate book club and social meeting outlet. To understand I Am 4Ever 39 Book Club we must understand the concept behind it, first it’s not your traditional let’s come together for the latest NY Times bestseller circle read but by Gail’s definition “We come together book appointments and read numbers” and the appointments spa dates or wine crawls and the numbers are BMI, BP, Credit Scores and Alcohol content.

Once a month Perry-Mason and a growing number of followers come together to support, uplift and never leave each other hanging… A cause with a heart! Self care is the mantra, a place where women in the prime of life (middle-aged) after having raised their kids and may or may not be single can find a place to gather for comfort and support. The current event was held at Shed # 5 notably named She-Shed in Eastern Market and was a celebration of giving where donated items piled high in shopping bags, rolling luggage & duffel bags, cartons, and boxes - all types of vessels containing items to be given to the less fortunate throughout the Holiday season.

Supporting sponsors such as Detroit MGM Casino Hotel, Community Red, Table No.2 Restaurant, Craft Creative Catering, State Farm and Brinker helped make it possible. Each month the I Am 4Ever 39 Book Club creates new and exciting ways to come together for a cause. Since 2020 is already upon us Gail Perry-Mason is already leading the charge for the next uplifting event, I believe it has to do with numbers as in maybe there was a little more food on the plate so let’s think collectively about making a change!

Sounds like an awesome support opportunity to help she-shed some pounds and have a great time doing it…

Take your “Life Baggage” and replace them bags of gifts for those in need!

Due to the latest COVID-19 lockdown, it’s become the perfect time to catch up on all things NETFLIX. If your under quarantine whether mandated or self-imposed, NETFLIX has several hundred choices, from new shows and documentaries to dramas and sitcoms from across the globe. Here at Haute we decided to offer up a few of our choice picks, but trust me there is way more for your viewing pleasure. My top picks are from varying shows, from docuseries to sitcoms some have even been canceled while others are on their second or third seasons. The list of shows available both old and new is daunting and now with the possibility of being housebound for quite soem time, we may be able to watch everything and more. Check them out and let us know your binge-worthy favorites. Stay safe, stay home and stay informed. Cheers!
